The Resolution for Women Kickoff

It's Official!  The book club featuring The Resolution for Women, by Priscilla Shirer is underway.  We are so excited to see what God is going to do, as a vision for our lives as Godly wives, mothers, friends and women is brought to focus.

This week we had 37 women come out to meet with us! It was a great time of fellowship.  It felt so good to be around other Christian women who are seeking more of Him in their lives. We had a short overview of the introduction and talked about the main points of our study, we then broke up into small groups.  The groups were supportive and life giving and real. We discussed our feelings about making resolutions.

For some of us the word is scary and brings with it memories of past failure, for some of us it's fear of commitment and being held accountable.   One thing we all agreed on was what a great job Priscilla did with the introduction and dealing with all the emotions that can come when one hears the word "resolution".  She makes three strong and indisputable arguments for making the commitment to the "resolution revolution journey"!

The first is whether we realize it or not, everyday we make choices or resolve to live our lives a certain way, thus we are already women of resolutions! Second, It's hard to fail when you have the Holy Spirit on your side, empowering and encouraging you and third, the resolutions in this book are God's will for our lives and will impact the people we love in positive life giving ways.  All around sounds like a win, win.  After some chat in our small groups most of us decided to take the plunge and jump in with both feet to see what God has store for us ladies here at the Journey!

The resolutions in this book bring focus and clarity to the major areas of our lives that need to be reshaped and refined.  It's about no longer living on auto pilot but deciding to live intentional about who we want to be and how we live out God's purposes for our lives.  We are so valuable to God and our roles here are too important to be lived out unintentionally.  Our prayer as a ministry team is that we would all make the commitment to devote ourselves to living out the roles of our lives the way God has intended, with purpose and intention.  May we continue to become women of integrity who approach life with joy and fulfillment.

May our lives be a reflection of Psalm 119:15-16.

I meditate on your precepts
    and consider your ways.
I delight in your decrees;
    I will not neglect your word.

Meeting once again next week at the Journey house 7:00 pm, Wednesday, July 10, 2013. Hope to see you there.  If you can't make it we will be back here next week with an update.

May God richly bless you as you seek Him.

*A word about the reading schedule - When the schedule was created I only included the first page of the last chapter in each reading.  Please read through the end of each chapter! For example for the week of July 10 I scheduled reading from pages 11-28. Page 28 is actually the first page of the last chapter, The Balancing Point.  The chapter actually ends on page 30, please read to through to page 30.  I will be posting a new schedule (without the errors!) shortly!  Thanks for your patience.
